
Chris ScottHanson, Principal at Urban Cohousing Associates, is a respected leader in cohousing development in North America and author of The Cohousing Handbook: Building a Place for Community. Chris has assisted more than 35 cohousing groups across North America with all aspects of the cohousing development process from land acquisition to construction. He specializes in front end project planning and land acquisition, and finding and developing the business relationships with local project professionals, including developers, contractors, architects, engineers and lawyers.

Stewart Mayer brings over 25 years of project management experience in sustainable development and construction to the Urban Cohousing Associates team. An architect and general contractor, his design/build portfolio includes commercial and residential projects, including cohousing and retirement communities, rehabilitation and renovation projects, single and multi-family housing, and “Eco-resorts” in the Caribbean and Central America. These projects ranged from $250k - $25M; from infill lots to 80+ acres. With Chris ScottHanson, Stew was co-development manager for the 69-acre Sawyer Hill Ecovillage cohousing community in Berlin MA.

Jasen Robillard, Associate at Urban Cohousing Associates, Inc, and principal at Connexus Cohousing Collaborative, manages the Canadian business interests and acts as lead contact for cohousing groups seeking advice and consulting services. His project management experience in environmental, geotechnical, and geological engineering consulting together with his background in software training, group facilitation, and community organization leadership provides the broad skill base required to lead a cohousing project to completion.
