 Professional Skills

Planning and Zoning: Two years of government application and enforcement, and 6 years of permit processing and land use approvals from the private sector. Shorelines, platting and commercial zoning experience.

Green Construction: Early adopter (1981) of green building practices. Personally hand built two homes and many remodels, additions, decks and tree houses. Personally subcontracted two other homes for family.

Human Resources: Talent search, evaluation, selection, management, training & education, as well as outplacement services. Broad experience hiring and managing design and engineering professionals.

Project Management Project specific budgeting, scheduling, and cash flow planning for housing and mixed use development projects ranging from $2.5M to $25M. Outside the box scenario building and problem solving.

Budgeting: Programming, budget pro forma development, specific budget implementation and management, and critical analysis. Includes estimating and cash flow planning. Managing client expectations.

Land Search and Acquisition: Needs analysis, site programming, establishing search criteria, mapping, outreach, evaluation & analysis, selection, negotiations and offer, acquisition and closing.
